Beach towels are longer and wider than bath towels so a person can stretch out on them at the beach, the lake, or the swimming pool. They are often made of a thick and soft material so you can relax on them and be comfortable. It is also common for people to tie their beach towel around their waist when they are walking around. Some people are too self conscious to be out of the water without some coverage on them.
